That said, we’re still excited to try out the Surface 3. But the first still hasn’t, and while Apple doesn’t bundle a keyboard with its own iPad, Microsoft still presents the Surface as a unit with the keyboard - which makes it $629 to begin with, not $499. It’s been a few years now, and the second problem has been remedied. Is that going to be enough to snag new buyers? I still think Microsoft permanently muddied the waters for no good reason, by a) initially marketing the tablet and keyboard so strongly together, and then not bundling the keyboard with the tablet, and b) with the totally useless and confusing (to consumers) Windows RT bifurcation.
